Phenome: advanced medical testing
A world-class laboratory group working across five global hubs, with more than 100,000 samples read to catch disease early and guide the right care.

Phenome is a precision-health company building the infrastructure for preventive medicine. It is led by Prof. Adil Mardinoglu, Professor of Systems Biology at King’s College London and at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, with a team that includes the systems-biology pioneer Prof. Leroy Hood.
Its laboratories combine whole-genome sequencing, microbiome analysis and multi-omics profiling with AI, and it leads the 1M Phenome Initiative, a programme that aims to profile one million people through laboratory hubs in the United States, Türkiye and South Korea.
For clinicians, the result is a comprehensive molecular readout that combines the genome, the proteome and metabolic pathways, modelled as a clinical digital twin, to support treatment decisions tailored to each patient.

Empowering precision medicine and advancing biomedical data sovereignty in Saudi Arabia.
What the partnership brings to the Kingdom
Every Saudi activity below is planned under the 2026 agreement and will be delivered with Medixcel.
Testing labs at home
Two national laboratories planned in Riyadh and Jeddah, so advanced testing happens here, including during Hajj and Umrah.
Data stays in the Kingdom
Health and genetic data stored and protected inside Saudi Arabia, with a national biobank for the future.
Precision care for clinicians
Oncologists and immunology consultants gain access to comprehensive molecular readouts that combine genome, proteome and metabolic pathways, to support treatment decisions tailored to each patient.
A clinical digital twin
Multi-omics data modelled into a digital twin of each patient, so treatment can be simulated before it is chosen.
From agreement to Saudi capability
The programme as planned. Dates follow regulatory and construction milestones.
Partnership signed
Strategic partnership formalised in Riyadh in September 2026.
Laboratory design and regulatory pathway
Facility design, accreditation plan and SFDA pathway for a national reference laboratory.
Riyadh reference laboratory
Multi-omics profiling and digital twin modelling for Saudi clinicians, delivered in Riyadh.
Jeddah laboratory and national biobank
A second national laboratory serving the western region and the Hajj and Umrah seasons, with a biobank kept in the Kingdom.
Strategic partnership with Phenome for precision medicine
Medixcel formalised a strategic partnership with Phenome to establish advanced national infrastructure for multi-omics profiling and clinical digital twin modelling in Riyadh.
